Catch of the day 🐡. Plates for a michelin starred restaurant @restostoveke near my atelier. I recently started to fire these large plates on sand. Some extra cleaning work but definitely worth the try when you’re firing plates.
This sand can be find @colpaertvanleemputten and can be reused over and over again.

Prototyping for a two-Michelinstarred restaurant from Luxemburg. Hasty actions are not rewarded in this craftsmanship. Valued lesson I learned over the years of creating pieces for restaurants. Measure, rethink, build, measure again, overthink, rebuild and be patient while drying. “Terra incognita” on the menu for this order of over 120 pieces. Thanks for the trust @ma_langue_sourit

They differ before and after firing. Just like we do after ski holidays. Bruises on our legs but wide awake after a week of sport and long nights catching all the sleep we missed out before.
But for now I’ve seen enough snow, spring can jump in and these winecoolers can come out of my freezer to welcome the first rays of sun next week!

Breaddishes made out of black lava clay, fired once at 960 degrees, glazed in a complete opposite colour, fired again at 1240 degrees and crocodile dishes sneaked out of the kiln. 🐊⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

How we swirl is a secret 🫶🏼
For this collection I mix multiply types and sorts of clay to have this nice swirl of colours. After months of research I found the right combination of clay and glaze. And the first drop of new work is online today!
